Paralegal - Real Estate
Paralegals (one junior and one senior) are sought by this leading law firm to work in the UK’s top 15 Real Estate department as part of a top tier Housing and Regeneration team in Exeter.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assisting on residential conveyancing matters;
- Advising private developers and registered providers on sale of new build properties;
- Routine property transaction such as small disposals and acquisitions and land swaps;
- Negotiation of Deeds of Grant of rights, easements and wayleaves, substation leases and transfers;
- Dealing with adoption agreements for roads, sewers and open spaces;
- Assisting with completions, Land Registry applications, SDLT;
- Assisting Solicitors and Partners on property development for housing associations and developers;
- Ensuring files are managed in compliance with firm’s procedures including Lexcel.
Person Specification
You will have:
- Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files independently where appropriate;
- Strong client focus and commitment to service delivery;
- Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines;
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision;
- Strong attention to detail with methodical, logical approach;
- Drive and enthusiasm;
- Flexibility and can do attitude and a good team player.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Excellent academic record with LLB/GDL/LPC ideally with elective in property law;
- Some property experience or paralegal experience;
- Prior experience in Real Estate work in private practice;
- Experience of handling conveyancing matters is essential;
- Willingness to develop conveyancing knowledge;
- Willingness to develop general property law knowledge.
