Costs Negotiator / Draftsperson – If you are an experienced Costs Draftsperson looking to further your career at one of the leading insurance firms in the UK, specifically with regard to high-value complex work, such as clinical negligence, then this opportunity could be for you.

  • Previous Experience: at least one year as a costs draftsperson handling own costs caseload from a defendant or claimant background. Experience of complex, high value costs work would be a major advantage.

BACKGROUND TO THE ROLE

The continued growth and increasing competitiveness of the insurance market has resulted in our client seeking to create a more effective costs service with an improvement in their service offering. This has resulted in a position becoming available for an experienced Costs Draftsperson to join the team and be a part of that change.

The firm is looking for someone with proven experience as a Costs Negotiator / Draftsperson, but ideally withy experience of high-value work. The team receives files concerning complex matters including medical negligence, high-value industrial disease and large loss work. Applicants should be proficient in all the usual responsibilities such as drafting points of dispute and points of reply. Furthermore, the successful candidate should:

i) demonstrate excellent negotiation skills;

ii) work efficiently in a target driven environment;

iii) possess strong attention to detail; and

iv) work effectively as part of a busy team.
