Solicitor

Kennedy is looking for a Solicitor to join our Manchester office in the Insurance division, with a focus on Financial Lines and Cyber.

The national financial lines and professional risks team at Kennedys advises on a broad range of issues, the main focus of which is defendant professional negligence and coverage but also includes reinsurance and financial lines issues (such as directors and officers issues and cyber risks) for a variety of national and international insurers.

Cyber is a real growth area for the firm and the ideal candidate would have some experience in this area, or at least an aptitude and willingness to become involved with cyber risks. This is one of the largest teams in the country. With over thirty years’ experience in all areas of professional indemnity insurance, Kennedys has an enviable reputation and the skills required to service this increasingly complex market.

The successful candidate will have:

• Strong Academics (2.1 or higher degree) or equivalent
• 0-4 years’ Defendant Professional Indemnity experience*
• Experience of professional indemnity claims brought against professionals.
• To have had previous client contact and attendance at business development events.
• Experience of alternative dispute resolution and negotiation
• There will be an opportunity to work on Directors and Officers related cases and also some Cyber risks, so any experience or wish to work in those areas would be desirable
