Data Management and Compliance Officer
Manchester
Leigh Day is seeking to appoint a Data Management and Compliance Officer to work within our Professional Ethics & Compliance team. The successful candidate will play an active role in maintaining standards for the confidentiality, availability and integrity of data.
Key tasks and responsibilities;
Working directly with the Professional Ethics & Compliance Manager, the role holder will assist in developing and maintaining a compliant information management system by:
- Managing and recording actions for any potential data breaches
- Responding to firm wide queries to assist employees in understanding relevant processes
- Providing guidance to manage any subject access requests
- Drafting policies and procedures in response to guidance and data protection legislation
To be successful you must have:
- Familiarity with the requirements of the DPA 2018 and GDPR
- Experience of managing or advising on data breaches, subject access requests, data protection impact assessments, privacy policies and risk registers
- Experience of devising and/or delivering training in best practice of data management
- Demonstrable analytical, problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Previous experience of working in or with law firms (preferable)
