Senior Banking Litigator - Maternity Cover 12 months

We have an exciting opportunity for a Managing Legal Counsel to join a leading international bank  in their Corporate & Strategic Litigation team on a 12 month maternity cover basis. The job holder’s responsibilities will be the management of all Corporate & Strategic Litigation covering:

• Managing and supporting a small team but effective;
• Managing technical, complex high value litigation relating to Corporate Banking business which includes Corporate and Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking.
• Provision of pragmatic, strategic and business focused legal advice to seek to mitigate/optimise risk in respect of all matters within remit with holistic view of legal, financial crime, regulatory, conduct and reputational risks.
• Setting relevant policies and standards, manage and provide oversight of disputes relating to Bank services and operations.
• Managing disputes relating to use of third party suppliers and contractors.
• Strategic input to relevant risk management fora including inputs from stakeholders and sharing outputs, engagement in industry bodies, engaging with regulators and government and supporting responses to consultations and proposed legislative change.

You will be a UK qualified lawyer with expertise in managing complex, strategic litigation in connection with Corporate Banking, with experience of team management as well as experience of policy design and governance. you will also have a good working knowledge of the UK regulatory framework for financial services products and services.
