Legal Counsel – Risk and Compliance

A Top 60 national law firm are looking for a Risk and Compliance Legal Counsel to work in-house at their Nottingham offices on a full-time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities of your new role

Working alongside the Head of Risk and Compliance in identifying and managing the firm's regulatory compliance and professional risks, your primary duties as Legal Counsel will include:

• Evaluating the firm's compliance with the SRA Handbook, other relevant rules and legislation;
• Identifying and analysing risks and then assessing if internal compliance controls and policies are operating effectively;
• Recommending ways to strengthen internal risk structure;
• Providing support, education and training to build risk awareness within our firm.

Required skills, experience and qualifications

To be successful in your application for this Legal Counsel role you will need to demonstrate:

• Qualified solicitor or able to demonstrate significant experience of working within a legal practice environment;
• Experience of managing risk and compliance processes within a legal environment; and
• Detailed knowledge and experience of the SRA and the regulatory framework and associated rules and legislation.

Salary

An experience dependent salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum is on offer for the Legal Counsel.
