Legal Counsel – GDPR Compliance

A global leader in Sports Media Broadcasting seeks the support of a senior-level Legal Counsel to act as an expert on GDPR and lead compliance across the business, developing and maintaining data protection policies and procedures. Based in West London, the business is offering a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities of your new role

Your primary duties as Legal Counsel will include:

• Advising on data protection / GDPR compliance matters plus intellectual property and commercial advice;
• Working closely on all new initiatives involving data, particularly in the Marketing, Partnerships, Procurement and Insights teams;
• Developing pragmatic data privacy solutions to help achieve business aims;
• Assisting on the research of legal issues, case law and legislative developments; and
• Supporting on regulatory developments that are likely to affect the industry.

Required skills, experience and qualifications

The business is keen to speak with Legal Counsel candidates who demonstrate:

• 5+ years of PQE working as a data protection lawyer;
• Strong grasp of compliance issues, particularly data protection; and
• A wide range of legal skills including legal research, drafting and negotiation, as well as good commercial and technology experience.
