Insurance/Reinsurance Associate (4-8+ PQE) – Bermuda

We are working closely with a rated disputes practice in Bermuda that is keen to locate a bright, ambitious UK/Common Law qualified lawyer with broad insurance / reinsurance experience to include the full range of court proceedings and arbitration matters. The partner led team is small but punchy, offering immediate responsibility and opportunity to build a long-term career within what is a very close knit, collegiate environment.

Offering a “one stop shop” for Bermuda-related arbitration work, the firm offers clients access to its global network and highly specialist insurance teams across the Americas, Caribbean, Europe the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Advising clients on all classes of business, including general liability (particularly the “Bermuda Form”), professional liability, directors' and officers' liability, financial institutions, product liability, Industry Loss Warranties, Insurance Linked Securities, captive insurance programmes, property, life insurance and other classes of long-term business, environmental liability, construction, marine and cargo, personal accident, life insurance, workers compensation, and motor liability, the team also offers unique specialist expertise advising and acting on Offshore Professional Risks, involving professional negligence claims in offshore jurisdictions while also representing corporate clients on a wide range of commercial disputes, both in litigation and in arbitration, as well as on insolvency and restructuring matters, trusts disputes, and regulatory issues.

To be considered, it is envisaged that applicants will have between 3-7yrs+ PQE (on a UK scale) and have gained their experience to date within a specialist international insurance practice, while ideally possessing broader disputes experience. Bright with a strong academic pedigree, candidates will be looking to make a long-term commitment to living and working in an offshore Caribbean jurisdiction.
