Compelling opportunity available for a general commercial litigator to join the Hong Kong office of our leading Offshore client. The work on offer is diverse & sophisticated and would suit those that are keen to maintain a breadth of work with an emphasis on large scale litigation and arbitration. Work on offer includes (but is not limited to):
- professional negligence matters (including directors' duties)
- contract, fund & trust disputes
- insolvency & restructuring matters
- mutual and hedge fund litigation
- regulatory proceedings & investigations
- security enforcement & asset tracing
To be considered it is expected that applicants will have a strong academic pedigree, be admitted to practice in a Common Law/Offshore jurisdiction and have gained their experience to date (circa 4-10+ PQE) within a recognised international disputes practice. Alternatively, barristers currently at practice with a leading commercial chambers would also be urged to make themselves known, as it is felt the variety and scope of work on offer, allied to significant responsibility and independence, would be a good fit.
Regional experience is advantageous but not essential, as are Chinese language skills, but a long-term commitment to building a career in Hong Kong is very important, as is a genuine ability to work well within a small, collegiate team environment. The office is young, friendly and vibrant and works closely with other areas of the firm across its international network, offering the successful candidate a superb platform from which to develop a successful career.
