A West Yorkshire Local Authority body are looking to recruit an experienced Prosecutions Solicitor for their busy Education and Litigation Team in Legal Services. Joining the in house team, you will be offered a full-time, permanent role.
Responsibilities of your new role
As a Prosecutions Solicitor your duties will include:
- Handling complex cases;
- Conducting advocacy; and
- Managing a busy caseload of court proceedings and advice matters.
The focus is upon prosecutions for the various Council departments; Licensing, Environmental Health, Planning, Revenue & Benefits etc.
Required skills, experience and qualifications
The Public Sector organisation are looking to speak with Prosecutions Solicitors who demonstrate:
- Extensive knowledge and experience of conducting litigation matters.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic and ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team;
- Local authority experience is not required but a sound grounding in criminal law and procedures and experience of prosecutions is essential; and
- Some knowledge of licensing law is desirable.
Salary
The successful Prosecutions Solicitor will be offered £35,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
