Legal Counsel

Legal Counsel sought by technology business in Gloucester to act as the primary legal contact across a wide spectrum of commercial issues.

Reporting to the UK CEO, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial contracts including Cloud, Hosting, Technology, Products, Sales and Marketing issues for the UK business units. In addition to the core commercial contracts elements above, the Legal Counsel will additionally be involved with all other legal issues for the business unit including IP, Compliance, Data Protection, Corporate, Employment and Litigation matters.

Finally, the Legal Counsel will also provide support to the group legal team (of 5 qualified Solicitors) on broader International topics which impact on their European and US entities providing International exposure on top of the UK focus.

Whilst primarily office based, the Legal Counsel will have the opportunity to travel from time to time (once per month on average) to other sites around Europe to broaden their exposure and spread best practice to the business.

Successful applicants to this Legal Counsel opportunity will be qualified Solicitors with experience of reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts (from either an In-House or Practice perspective). Additional exposure to some of the other legal issues would be useful, but could be learned on the job by someone with the right pragmatic attitude to fit into the business culture on a medium to long term basis.
