PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT LAWYER - HEALTH GROUP - LIVERPOOL

Professional Support Lawyer - The health team of this highly respected 'top tier' firm is looking for a professional support lawyer (PSL) to join their nationally regarded health team. The role can be based in any of the firms UK locations including Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds or London.

• Job Title: Professional Support Lawyer / PSL
• Location: Liverpool / Manchester / Leeds
• Salary:£40,000 - £50,000
• Reports to: Head of Health Group
• Previous experience: A professional support lawyer preferably with a legal background in health or healthcare advisory or indeed health litigation / clinical negligence. Those from a commercial or corporate background will also be considered.

ROLE OF A PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT LAWYER

The role of a professional support lawyer or PSL is a crucial function within any practice area. Though non-fee earning, it provides a vital support function to other lawyers within the team. The role of a PSL can be quite varied and generally draws upon the practical skills and experience of being a solicitor. Typically, the role might involve:

• Overseeing a team or department's knowledge management needs whether in terms of keeping precedent documentation up-to-date or assessing the departments training requirements;
• Being involved in business development whether in terms of supporting solicitors in producing seminars or presentations or organising business events;
• Supporting fee earners or indeed marketing teams on bids or tenders to new clients;
• Producing articles or legal news bullet-ins on key developments in the law to be used externally for clients' benefit or internally within the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES WITHIN HEALTH TEAM

The health team covers a broad range of work from advisory and transactional areas to litigation matters. It is important that a PSL has experience in legal practice, as your research and drafting skills should be excellent. That said, this client will look at lawyers who have practiced in a broad range of areas including contentious and non-contentious work.

You may have clinical negligence or a healthcare advisory background. That said, you may equally have gained your knowledge in real estate or commercial. Our client is looking for lawyers with a transferable skill set.

FLEXIBILITY

The nature of the role means that it can be feasibly located from any of our client's offices in the UK. The client will also consider working from home, so this role would be ideal for anyone looking for a role offering genuine flexibility.
