We have just been instructed on a rare Criminal Fee Earner opportunity at a firm based in Durham. The firm are a high street practice with an excellent reputation in the County Durham area, particularly for Criminal Law. The firm has an extremely low staff turnover and a traditional, friendly feel within the office.
The firm are really open on the qualifications of the candidate they want to bring in, and would be interested in seeing Chartered Legal Executives who specialise in Criminal, or an unqualified Criminal Paralegal for this Criminal Fee Earner position.
Joining the Criminal team, you'd be responsible for running the Crown Court department, along with given the task of Police Station work. The workload that you would have would include a lot of preparation for advocacy and you will also naturally be required to attend Court with Counsel. It is desired that the candidate would be able to work with minimal supervision.
It is essential that the individual brought into the team would have a strong background in Criminal Law, along with fantastic client care skills as so much of the work you will be expected to carry out will be heavily face to face work.
Criminal vacancies such as these do not come up often, so if you think you have the experience required then I would urge you to apply.
