Claims Handler - Professional Indemnity

Your new company

Our client is a leading international law firm with an excellent reputation in a number specialisms. They are leaders in Insurance, Health, Real Estate and are recognised as experts throughout the sectors that they service. They currently have a number of openings in their highly regarded, 30 strong Professional Indemnity team who specialise in defending claims against a range of professionals including solicitors, architects, surveyors, insurance brokers amongst others. Our client offers genuine progression opportunities for their workers and are able to support them through studies - they are also able to consider flexible working or perhaps students who are able to commit to part time hours prior to graduating.

Your new role

You will be running your own caseload of up to 250 matters across a range of Professional Indemnity claims. This is not an admin based role as there is dedicated admin support. You will be an independent fee earner managing your own caseload under the supervision of a team leader. You will be liaising with clients over the phone and in person and conduct reviews, identify issues, draft correspondence and ultimately resolve claims through these means. The cases are pre-litigated however you any litigate cases you will get to be involved in by becoming client and instructing the litigator. This team are very client focused and are experienced in alternative dispute resolution such as mediation and arbitration.

What you'll need to succeed

You will either be an experienced paralegal with an insurance or commercial background or a bright graduate with solid academics. You will receive a very competitive basic salary as well as a range of benefits. Most importantly, you will have an interest in the insurance sector and particularly professional indemnity.
