The firm

The team

This is a unique opportunity for a senior corporate lawyer to join a highly established 70+ strong national corporate team, headed up by a collegiate partnership with years of expertise working on international and domestic M&A, private equity, capital markets, joint ventures and reorganisations and fundraisings.

The team in Birmingham has expertise in working for clients within the manufacturing and engineering, leisure, retail, telecommunications and technology sectors. The culture of the team is friendly, engaged, dynamic and collaborative and has the benefit of close working relationships with the banking, tax, commercial and litigation teams when it comes to developing new client relationships and opportunities.

The role

The successful partner will have the opportunity to develop this role as they see fit and will have the full backing and support of the partners to enable them to realise their ambitions. Candidates with a specialist interest/expertise in a given area of corporate law or sector will be of particular interest.

As a new partner in this established corporate team, the day today role will include working alongside PLCs, large private companies and SMEs together with many international banks and corporates on the full spectrum of corporate work. There will be the opportunity the opportunity to work with clients and colleagues across the globe on cross-border advice and to have early input on strategic corporate advice for key clients.

The candidate

This Corporate Partner role would suit a Birmingham based senior corporate lawyer or re-locator with significant corporate experience who is looking for an new challenge and the opportunity to work for a leading UK and international law firm known for its innovative approach. The successful candidate will be well connected, ambitious, and keen to service their clients in a collaborative, innovative and transparent manner.

The ideal candidate will be a personable, bright and decisive senior corporate lawyer. They will have gained experience at a highly regarded national or international practice and feel comfortable leading on large and complex transactions. The candidate will also demonstrate strong business development skills, have a clear plan for developing their own business case and the strength of character to interact effectively with colleagues and clients at every level.
