The role of Partnership Services Accountant is situated within the Partnership Services team for the London office. The specific purpose of this role is to completely regular tasks accurately and timely and provide analysis and support to the Senior Finance Manager. The role also involves ad hoc tasks to be completed, in relation to budgeting, management accounting, statutory reporting, internal/external audits and internal/external client requirements.
Responsibilities
Preparation of the quarterly VAT return, review of underlying transactions and processes throughout finance to ensure compliance with legislation. Submissions/payments to HMRC for VAT. Balance sheet reconciliation for all VAT balances.
Preparation /review/submission of the EC Sales List.
Review and reconciliation of withholding tax transactions from debtor receipts.
Monthly, quarterly and annual Government statistical returns.
Preparation of Indian Branch Accounts.
Review payroll journal postings and reconcile related accounts.
Foreign lawyer costs budgeting and tracking.
Reconcile partner units and allocation between reporting groups within London, post monthly journal.
Non-legal billing, chasing payments and reconciliations.
Review interoffice reconciliations, respond to queries, approve payment schedule, follow up reconciling items. Transfer of income and costs between offices for special arrangements in accordance with Firm and tax requirements.
Review general ledger account analysis/reconciliations/cost Centre reporting, journal review authorization/postings for debt provisions/write offs, other ad hoc analysis/corrections.
Month end close to deadline, including preparation of schedules for internal reporting.
Assisting in the preparation of the budget and forecasts.
Support and contact with budget holders to explain reports, provide analysis and insight.
Dealing with internal and external auditors.
Essential Skills
You will be newly qualified or junior level qualified in either ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Hyperion Planning skills preferred.
Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills essential.
You will have experience and knowledge of latest VAT regulations and IFRS requirements.
You will be able to demonstrate technical knowledge and expertise of a global professional services practice management system (Keystone, Elite, CMS or SAP) and general ledger (Oracle Financials).
