Legal Counsel - FinTech - Central London

The company is one of the fastest growing FinTech businesses in their niche in the world. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and dynamic company working directly with their General Counsel who is a caring and supporting leader keen to give their team members ample opportunities for development and responsibility.

An already highly successful business, the company has ambitious plans for growth, as well as geographical and product expansion.  

Consequently, this is an important role with substantial scope for progression as the company scales. The role itself is broad and varied with responsibility for commercial contracts, IT (technology) / software agreements, some corporate activity, supporting the compliance team and other ad-hoc legal issues that arise on a day-to-day basis. 

You will be expected to:

  • work hand-in-hand with senior stakeholders across all parts of the business;
  • support the company as it scales at a rapid rate, including by helping to grow the legal team and its presence within the business;
  • take a pragmatic and commercial approach and
  • be easy to work with and want to work in a fun but demanding company.

Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years PQE in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts or IT / IP issues and will have spent time in-house in a dynamic, fast-paced business. GDPR / data protection and privacy experience would be a huge plus.
