Sue Ross Legal are recruiting for a Paralegal to join the Housing Law team, of our client’s Sheffield based office. You will be working within a well established and respected law firm with offices across South Yorkshire.
Duties will include;
- Assisting with and handling your own caseload of housing law files
- Providing advice, assistance and representation to both private and publicly funded clients
- Screening and responding to incoming correspondence and telephone calls
- Dealing with client queries both in person, via email and telephone
- Drafting legal documents including letters of advice and court forms
- Diarising key dates including limitation dates, court dates etc
- Instructing experts including producing relevant letters and reports
- Negotiating settlements
- Attending court with Counsel
- Conducting own advocacy where necessary
- Briefing Counsel
- Determining whether clients are eligible for funding
- Creating and submitting bills
- Working to set targets
- Checking and actioning files for review
- Closing client files
To be considered for this role you should have experience and knowledge of housing law, the ability to draft documents and work on your own initiative.
