ENERGY LAWYER NEEDED - SHIPPING, TRADING, DERIVATIVES - INTERIM IN-HOUSE ROLE

We are working with a major energy company in London who are looking for someone to support their Gas and Power function on a fixed term contract until summer 2019 (this can be either as an employee or as a daily rate contractor).

The role will involve providing legal services and advice broadly to the whole function, with particular focus on dry bulk trading and shipping, as well as gas, power and emissions trading and derivatives. This role will involve drafting, negotiating and advising on all relevant agreements, working closely within a small team.

The successful candidate must have relevant experience in either shipping or derivatives, and be available to start within the next 6 weeks. Ideally you will be qualified as a solicitor in the UK or equivalent European jurisdiction with at least 5 years PQE, although relevant experience will be considered. Previous experience in the energy sector would be highly desirable, particularly dealing with commercial, gas and power contracts. European languages and legal knowledge of other European jurisdictions would also be a plus, including French, German, Spanish or Italian.
