A leading UK and Ireland third-party logistics and supply chain solutions provider are looking for a junior Legal Counsel to support their in-house team in Swindon on a full-time, permanent basis.
Responsibilities of your new role
As Legal Counsel your primary duties will include:
- Drafting and maintaining legal precedents;
- Supporting and advising Procurement on their standard SOGAS agreements;
- Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts and agreements including NDA/confidentiality, LOIs and outsourcing, Variation and novation agreements, General logistics, and IT agreements;
- Identifying and mitigating legal risks and keeping abreast of regulatory and market developments that will impact the business whilst ensuring a pragmatic approach;
- Providing ad hoc legal advice as and when needed;
- Reviewing and drafting policies and procedures concerning data protection, social media and anti-bribery; and
- Managing databases and internal registers, e. risk, litigation and data registers
Candidate requirements
The business looks to speak with qualified Legal Counsel applicants with NQ-2 years of PQE. You should also demonstrate:
- Proficiency in working in a fast-paced and complex business environment;
- Ability to work in a small but busy team and prioritise work to ensure timescales are met;
- Commercially-focused and aware of the balance between business needs and risk;
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to build relationships, negotiate and influence individuals at all levels of the organisation;
- Acute attention to detail;
- Willing to "take control" and make considered decisions;
- Self-motivated and drives for continuous improvement;
- Desirable: experience within an in-house legal position or via secondment;
- Desirable: experience in advising on TUPE or GDPR; and
- Desirable: completed a seat in Corporate or experience of Company Secretarial activity.
Salary and benefits
The Legal Counsel will benefit from:
- £35,000 - £43,000 per annum, DOE;

Your new team
The In House Counsel will be joining a Legal and Company Secretariat currently comprised of a Legal Director, 2 Lawyers and 1 Assistant Company Secretary. Reporting directly to the Legal Director, this role offers excellent exposure to senior stakeholders across both Legal and Company Secretary workstreams.
