A prestigious US Law Firm is looking to hire a new Research Assistant to join them on a permanent basis, working 3 days per week (21 hours) – the  days will be flexible for the candidate.  Responsibilities will include processing the daily mail (serials check-in and routing), ordering, processing and returning library materials, shelving books and supplying article requests, circulates selected print serials and maintains routing lists for such titles, tracks and claims any missing publication issues, distributes the standard office copy titles to new Attorneys and Paralegals, places and tracks orders with the library’s vendors, and reviews invoices for accuracy before submitting for payment, maintains the library’s catalogue by adding new materials, and removing out-of-date materials, coordinates the cataloging and processing of new books and periodicals, shelves books and other library materials, ensuring that they are shelved in correct call number order, pulls out-of-date materials from the shelf, organises loose-leaf filer visits, organises usernames and passwords for research databases for new joiners and arranges training on research databases when required, responding to requests to set up new or reset passwords, fulfills document retrieval requests, including requests for articles, book loans, and other materials, conducting basic research as requested by the Research Services Supervisor, assisting with keeping intranet pages and renewals database up-to-date.  Candidates must have strong customer service, attention to detail and Microsoft Office skills, previous experience within a law firm is advantageous. Standard hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm.
