An Insurance company in Kent are looking for an Assistant Company Secretary to join them in-house for a full-time, permanent role paying up to £40,000 per year. You will play an important role in a Company Secretary team who strive to facilitate, help and support the entire function of the business through guidance, governance and good practice.
Responsibilities of your new role
Your key duties as Assistant Company Secretary will include:
- Core company secretarial duties (annual compliance work, board and shareholder resolutions);
- Completing and submitting required forms (electronically and in hard copy), annual returns, written resolutions and other documents to the UK Companies House registry;
- UK statutory day to day company compliance including liaison with external advisors as required;
- Assisting with public company compliance processes, including the drafting and release of London Stock Exchange Regulatory News Service announcements;
- Working closely with the Assistant Company Secretaries on the preparation of Board and Committee papers; and
- Supporting the Company Secretary and team during the AGM preparation and the production of the Annual Report and Accounts.
Required skills, knowledge and experience
The Company Secretary team are looking for applications from candidates who demonstrate:
- Desire to obtain knowledge of UK Companies Act 2006, FCA Disclosure and Transparency Rules and other relevant legislation;
- Good working knowledge in the use of the latest company secretarial software is preferred but full training will be provided;
- Strong organisation skills;
- High levels of professionalism and integrity;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to produce high quality written documents; and
- Ability to respond quickly to ad hob queries and manage conflicting priorities
The successful Assistant Company Secretary will:
- Preferably be from a legal background with a law or business degree;
- Be an ICSA graduate or willing to undertake the ICSA Company Secretarial Qualification; and
- Ideally have some experience of working in a Legal or Company Secretarial department
Salary and benefits
The Assistant Company Secretary will be offered £30,000 - £40,000 per annum.
