Ryder Reid are working on an exclusive basis with a successful US law firm to recruit a new HR Manager on a 6-month contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and proactive legal HR professional. The HR Manager will work closely with the Director of Administration and the Recruitment Manager on a range of diverse HR related activities and initiatives. Key responsibilities for the HR Manager will include:

  • Supporting the partners, lawyers and business services staff on a day-to-day basis regarding all HR issues
  • Managing all employee relations for the office, including performance management, disciplinary meetings, exit interviews, and staff absence
  • Managing the recruitment process for business services and coordinating the on-boarding process
  • Working alongside Director of Administration in relation to annual lawyer review and compensation process
  • Assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures
  • Coordination of benefits and payroll administration
  • Working with the graduate recruitment team, including interviewing trainees
  • Overseeing the London secretarial team

The ideal candidate for the HR Manager position will have solid generalist HR experience from a law firm, and will preferably have a recognised HR qualification. You will either have experience at Manager level or be a strong Senior Advisor/Officer who has the confidence and gravitas to take a step up. You will be a good team player who is able to work effectively with people of all levels. A real passion for HR is a must, and you need to be able to keep abreast of current trends and changes in legislation.
