A prestigious US Law Firm is looking to a hire a new Assistant Financial Accountant to join them on a permanent basis, ensuring the firm’s accounting procedures comply with all regulatory requirements and with emphasis to the Law Society’s Accounting Rules and Guidelines.  Responsibilities will include reviewing, documenting and monitoring the accounting procedures to observe The Solicitors Accounts Rules and implement compliance strategies to ensure their continual adherence by all members of the firm, produce schedules for cost/accruals accounting, reconciliations, variance analysis, budget preparation, profit and loss production and bad debt provisioning, understanding and ensuring compliance with the Firm's internal accounting procedures, providing support and review with the aim of developing the firms Elite accounting system, working collaboratively with local and firmwide stakeholders, understanding and ensuring compliance with the Firm's internal Money Laundering procedures, providing support to COFA and Assistant General Counsel based in the London office, participating in monthly meetings acting as secretary to the AML Committee. Other duties include payroll and pensions comparison and sign-off, yearly budget preparation and quarterly monitoring, supporting local office managers in preparation analysis and variance investigations, statutory Accounts, Office National Statistics reporting and compliance, Partner Draws, monthly preparation and reporting of local revenue metrics, preparing monthly bank reconciliation statements for all client accounts including designated deposit client accounts.  Candidates must have a sound knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and procedures, VAT and Money Laundering Regulations and other regulatory requirements, as well as being either ACCA or CIMA qualified.  Candidates must have strong communications, interpersonal and organisational skills.
