In House Legal Counsel

An international technology business specialising in software and computing is seeking an In House Legal Counsel to join their Newcastle based team. This is an impressive organisation, with a turnover in the hundreds of millions of pounds and around 2000 employees across the globe.
 

The Role

• The In House Counsel will give technical legal and commercial input to external customer and supplier contracts, projects and other business activities.
• This is a wide ranging role where you'll need to have strong technical legal skills around contracts, licenses, sales tenders, projects and procured services and provision of specialist advice.
• You'll liaise with colleagues across the business, working on multi disciplinary teams in marketing, finance, engineering and HR, across numerous international jurisdictions.
• You'll also work on bid reviews, play an important part in the negotiation of key supplier agreements, liaise with external panel solicitors, and input in to a wide range of other legal matters which could range from IPR, due diligence, property.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor – NQ – 4 years’ PQE
• Contractual and commercial experience gained at a recognised commercial law firm
• Interest in the technology sector
• Strong black letter legal skills around contracts and contract law
• Strong negotiating and influencing abilities
• Exceptional communication abilities
• Any additional experience in the IP/IT field or working in-house would be useful, but not essential

Salary, Contract and Benefits

• Up to £50,000 per annum
