Senior Dispute Resolution Solicitor.

Due to the firm’s succession planning, our client is now seeking an experienced Dispute Resolution Solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE to join the team in Newbury. The firm has a highly regarded and modern Dispute Resolution department. 

The department primarily deal with:
  • Property Litigation
  • Landlord and Tenant
  • Commercial Litigation
  • Employment Disputes with restraint of Trade and Confidentiality
  • Building and Construction disputes
  • Inheritance issues, and contested probate and wills
  • Breach of Contract, Negligence Claims and Intellectual Property Disputes.
  • Representing insolvency practitioners across the UK
The successful dispute resolution solicitor will be joining a team of one senior partner and one soon to be qualified Legal Executive. The candidate will also have experience handling Professional Indemnity Insurance claims and notifications and ideally will have been the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in previous employment. The successful candidate will also be expected to work with the Regulatory Standards Manager and Practice Manager handling anti-money laundering, GDPR and Complaints queries raised internally and received externally.

The work will include drafting court documents, such as: pleadings, witness statements, statements of costs, cost schedules and orders; property notices under sections 25-27 and 40 LTA 1954, section 146 notices, section 8 notices, section 21 notices, and TIWGA notice, and concise letters/emails of advice and correspondence to opponents and third parties.

Ideally, as a dispute resolution solicitor, you will have experience of contested and uncontested business lease renewals under the LTA 1954, Dilapidations claims, Possession claims, Service charge claims, Easement and restrictive covenant disputes, Proprietary estoppel claims, Injunctions, Party Wall Act disputes and Enfranchisement, have an understanding of risk and best practice, and a commitment to a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

A substantial part of this role will be to proactively engage in Business Development and Marketing. There will be a significant opportunity to generate further work and network across the Thames Valley working in a supportive environment.
