Derivatives and Structured Finance Associate (2-5 PQE) – Hong Kong

The Hong Kong office of this Magic Circle law firm seeks a talented associate to join its market leading Banking & Finance team, recognised as being at the cutting edge of complex transactional matters and innovative market developments across the Asia Pacific.

With between 2-5 years PQE gained at a recognised international law firm, applicants will have experience of OTC derivatives and structured finance experience, including repackagings, credit derivatives, equity derivatives and other OTC derivatives, structured products, securities lending and repos, as well as netting, collateral, clearing, custody and credit risk management issues. The group also advise clients on Hong Kong regulatory matters and on issues arising from the global OTC derivatives regulatory reforms.

Common law qualified (E&W or HK preferred but not essential) applicants will ideally possess Cantonese and Mandarin language skills, but again not essential.

Technically strong and comfortable working closely with what is often a demanding client base, the successful candidate will look to take immediate responsibility for transactions and business development, working closely with partners and senior lawyers in Hong Kong and internationally. A superb financial package and ongoing training & development is on offer while career progression is genuinely achievable to those with drive & ambition.
