Court Diary Clerk: Job Description:

Pure Legal Limited is currently seeking an applicant to fill the position of a Court Diary Clerk with overall responsibility of managing Court Limitation dates and the Court Diary across the Pure Business Group. Managing the Court diary and the claim limitation dates are very important parts of this particular role and if executed well will ensure claims are litigated and pursued in line with the Court timetable. The successful candidate will also be responsible for carrying out administrative services, including managing Court dates within Pure Legal and reviewing and managing daily various spreadsheets containing important claim dates, in addition to liaising with clients, the court, Counsel and third parties; sorting and distributing the post and providing support to the fee earning team. The ideal candidate for the position must have a strong work ethic, strong problem solving skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control all Court diary dates within Pure Legal ensuring all are complied with and Counsel instructed on time where necessary;
  • Responsible for monitoring the claim limitation dates for all claims within the Pure
  • Business Group and ensuring claims are litigated prior to limitation expiry;
  •  Managing spreadsheets and data;
  • Administrative duties such as making copies of documents and answering and directing phone calls;
  • Assisting fee earners with various aspects of the day to day running of cases;
  • Managing diaries and organising conferences with clients and counsel;
  • Corresponding with counsel, the court and clients;
  • Organising case files and compiling court bundles;
  • Assisting with accounting functions and billing;
  • Using the firms case management system;
  • Ensuring compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2011

Requirements:

  • Strong IT Skills — Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent English — written and spoken communication at all levels
  • Being extremely organised

Previous fee earning experience is desirable but not essential for the role
