West-End based law firm is looking to hire a new Building Maintenance Officer to ensure their premises are kept in good repair, including painting and decoration, heating and plumbing, joinery, electrical fittings, and systems. Duties will include the liaison with the Managing Agents regarding any maintenance or repair issues, monitoring associated expenditure, the active control of expenditure, working with Admin and Ops Supervisor on regular reviews of building maintenance budget, walk the floors daily to review required repairs/replacements and ensure contractors complete work in a timely manner, ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the office buildings, being particularly aware of carpet stains, skirting board scuff marks etc., first point of contact for out of hours building issues, full understanding of the infrastructure of the properties including but not exclusive to: lift maintenance, boiler system, cooling system, maintain the security of the premises by liaising with Security Guard suppliers to ensure all guards, in all premises, meet the required standard, advise the UK Office Administrator and Admin and Ops Supervisor of any London events heard through the news/social media, monitor local news and transport issues to keep staff advised of any potential issues, the liaison with Security Management Team in DC, bringing to attention of Admin and Ops Supervisor any updates or recommendations, coordinate the allocation and issue of security passes/keys at all London locations, use of FM Interact to complete processes assigned to new hire/leaver process and coordinate the contracts of external vendors and ensure Service Level Agreements are met.  Applicants require their IOSH and preferably be BIFM qualified to level 3 or above, previous office experience in a similar role at a law firm or professional services is advantageous and the ability to communicate orally and in writing to a high standard to all levels. A flexible working attitude is required as there will be non-exempt (paid) overtime required.
