TUPE Transactional Lawyer – Government Legal Department (Employment Group)

Leeds

£58,700

We are recruiting for a TUPE Transactional Lawyer to join our TUPE Hub.

The Government Legal Department (GLD) is a place in which to practise like no other. As the largest provider of legal services across government, we work on unique and high profile projects of unrivalled variety. From roads to rivers, and health to human rights, our work touches on most aspects of public life. This is your chance to make a lasting difference as you act in the public good.

Our highly motivated and dynamic Lawyers provide employment advice and litigation services to all Government Departments. This includes advising on large scale re-structuring within government and on the employment aspects of government out-sourcing, insourcing and re-procurement. The work is often high-profile with significant media and political interest, and projects have included the employment aspects of the Government response to the collapse of Carillion, reform to the delivery of probation services, and reform of the NHS Supply chain. As a TUPE Transactional Lawyer, you will often be working in multi-disciplinary teams directly involved in key government projects responsible for delivering changes that will affect all our futures. Our work gives access and insight into the huge variety of projects across Government.

To thrive in our dynamic political environment, you’ll need to be proactive, adaptable and creatively minded. The candidate for the Lawyer role will ideally have previous TUPE experience involving large scale projects. Knowledge of New Fair Deal and the Cabinet Office Statement of Practice would also be desirable, although training will be provided in this regard.

Whilst TUPE transactional work will be the focus of your practice, there will be opportunity to take on a broader range of employment advice and litigation or in due course to move to a different area of work altogether within GLD.

GLD is a supportive and happy place to work, offering a challenging and exciting career. We are truly committed to flexible working and providing a work/life balance for our teams, along with offering attractive benefits.

If this Lawyer role sounds right for you, apply now!
