We have a unique opportunity for a Risk & Compliance Manager join a full service law firm in Sheffield.
Our client has been well-established in the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire area for over 100 years, and have become market leaders regionally, even being recognised as a Legal 500 firm. They have achieved success through delivering high quality legal advice to corporate and private clients.
Rewarded for their excellent levels of client care, they have recently invested greatly in their employees and offices to maintain this standard. This is certainly not an opportunity to be overlooked.
Working alongside the CEO and Management board the Head of Risk & Compliance will have responsibility for managing all aspects of risk and compliance and the maintenance of in-house and external quality standards across the firm.
The role involves providing advice and support on a range of risk and quality management issues including, but not limited to:-
- managing and handling complaints made about the firm or individuals within the firm
- ensuring that legal and regulatory risk and compliance issues are identified, monitored and addressed, providing input into business and strategic decisions from a compliance perspective
- managing the firm's risk and incident registers
- undertaking and managing investigations of potential compliance issues in accordance with the firms risk and quality management policies
- preparing regular reports of risk and compliance issues
- identifying developing trends and areas of risk and proposing suitable solutions
- conducting regular reviews of the firm's risk and quality compliance policies and procedures
- managing and implementing appropriate training programmes for all personnel to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements
Our client is looking for someone with comprehensive knowledge and expertise of the SRA's regulatory framework and associated rules & legislation whilst also being able to demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge and experience in a previous risk and compliance role.
You should have strong attention to detail with a real focus on client care. The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines would also be required.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years' PQE, however, this level of experience has been given as an approximate guide for applicants and our client is happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this bracket.
