In-House Energy / Projects Legal Counsel (3-6 PQE) • Major Company • UAE

A prominent and very modern UAE energy company whose projects are hitting newspaper headlines around the world is looking to hire a talented Energy or Projects Lawyer. The location of the role is United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The role reports to a professional and driven E&W qualified General Counsel with over 20 years of experience in this niche sub-sector of the energy industry who is a caring manager keen to develop and support their team. Day-to-day operations are run by a young and dynamic bunch of multicultural legal professionals including some of the best lawyers having previously worked for top global law firms.

It is an amazing company and likely THE biggest project in the region to have on your CV. The role offers exciting and varied legal work. 

Responsibilities

Provide legal and policy advice on a wide range of legal matters related to company's operational business development activities;

Draft and review legal agreements between company and external organisations

Draft company's legal documents, policies, rules, and regulations, in order to reduce company's risk and liability and protect its interests

Monitor legal compliance and any internal and external identified risk, make recommendations on mitigating actions, advise on relevant regulations and respond to existing legal requirements, in order to ensure that company's corporate governance remains aligned to global best practices.

Requirements

We are looking for a 3-5 PQE Project Development or Energy Lawyer qualified in either England & Wales, US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand

Experience in drafting and negotiating international commercial contracts, general corporate / commercial, projects / project finance, M&A, commercial properties / energy or oil & gas.
