Legal Counsel

A Derby based business is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their In-house legal team for a full-time, permanent role. This In-House Counsel position represents the perfect opportunity for someone to focus on commercial matters whilst diversifying their experience.

Responsibilities of your new role

Working closely with the Head of Legal, you will provide pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice to the organisation and other related businesses. Your key duties as Legal Counsel will include:

• Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements (supply and purchase agreements, licences, collaboration agreements, NDAs, etc)
• Assisting with corporate documentation and corporate activity
• Advising on other legal matters, such as litigation, employment, and data protection
• Liaising with and instructing external legal counsel
• Providing general legal advice to various departments throughout the organisation

Candidate requirements

The business is looking to hear from Legal Counsel applicants who demonstrate:

• NQ-3 years of PQE
• Strong experience in Commercial Contracts
• Experience gained from a top firm or in-house team
• Data protection, intellectual property, employment and/or litigation experience is desirable

Salary

The successful Legal Counsel will be offered £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
