I am looking for a confident and motivated individual to join a Democratic Services Team based at a large local authority in the East Midlands. The successful candidate must have previous experience of working in a democratic services environment. You must be capable of balancing many priorities and organise your time efficiently. You need to be adaptable and able to communicate to a high standard, both verbally and in writing, as you shall be liaising with senior members of the organisation on a daily basis.
The successful candidate will work across all aspects of the democratic process at this large council, and be responsible for the management of meetings (preparation of agendas, reports and minutes), providing sound advice and guidance to councillors. You will have proven experience in scrutiny analysis, data management and policy work. You must be approachable, proactive and have a strong work ethic.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a democratic officer in the public sector, advising on committees, taking minutes and have recent governance experience is advantageous. My client is open to considering applications from candidates who are looking for both part time and full time hours.
We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Kate Jasper in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
