We are seeking a Conveyancing Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary for a well-established, highly reputable law firm at their Coventry city centre office.

The role involves:

  • Audio & copy typing of legal documents and correspondence
  • Emailing, scanning, filing and photocopying.
    • Diary management for the Head of Department and the conveyancing team
    • Provision of a high level of secretarial and administrative support
  • Preparing standard forms and drafting legal documents, under supervision
  • Carrying out searches electronically
  • Dealing with clients over the telephone, by email and face to face.
  • Opening, closing and archiving files
  • Providing a high level of client care
  • Use of a case management system
  • Dealing with exchange of contracts and completions
  • Preparing and submitting applications to the Land Registry
  • Taking minutes of departmental meetings.
  • Liaising with professional contacts, personally and by telephone
  • Answering queries and giving information
  • General conveyancing administration, assistance and support  

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Sound knowledge of conveyancing procedures from instruction to completion
  • Excellent secretarial and administrative skills and experience
  • Experience of using case management and accounts systems
  • Experience of dealing with clients and business contacts in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of money laundering procedures

This is a full time permanent position, working 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch every day.
