THE FIRM
A highly regarded US firm which is well established in the London market.
THE ROLE
An excellent opportunity for a technology transactions / data privacy specialist lawyer to handle a broad range of work for top quality clients in the US and UK.
Practically all of the work is international in nature and there is very little template/repeat work.
The role would particularly suit someone in a relatively large TMT practice who does not want to be pigeonholed and wants to develop a multi-specialist practice.
It could also suit someone from a smaller team in a larger firm, or a boutique practice, who is accustomed to working with a high degree of autonomy and who wants to join a growing practice.
The firm would also be happy to consider someone currently in-house (with solid previous law firm experience) who is looking to return to private practice.
Given the breadth of the client base in the US (both sectorally and geographically) there are significant untapped opportunities, particularly in the healthcare and life sciences sectors.
While there are inevitable spikes in work given the size of the team, the firm is fully supportive of flexible working needs.
ABOUT YOU
With 3-5pqe you will be interested in business development (article writing, webinars, in-person seminars, general networking).
Travel to and work in the US offices is encouraged but not required.
The firm offers reasonable target hours and a collegiate culture in the London office which reflects the US offices.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the areas set out below (in rough order of priority).
IP/IT Transactions
Drafting and negotiating a broad range of IP/IT and commercial agreements, in particular, in relation to:
software and technology licences
research, development and collaboration agreements for technology and life sciences sector clients
manufacturing, supply and services
distribution and agency
franchising and sponsorship agreements
trademark licences
The candidate will also have experience in data privacy, transactional support, IP management and ideally outsourcing, although this is not essential.
Lipson Lloyd Jones Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
