An exciting opportunity for a a senior HR Adviser to join an award winning UK top 200 law firm based in their Yeovil office.

The Role:

The role will consist of:

  • Providing professional support and expert advice to management and staff on HR policies and procedures, performance management and employee relations
  • Influence management around the people agenda to maximise performance
  • Identify HR priorities from the Firm, Departmental and Team Plans translating into effective HR practices aligned to the Firm’s business objectives
  • Manage and co-ordinate critical HR recruitment processes through to effective onboarding
  • Oversee all leaver processes and ensure personnel records are archived within the Firm’s GDPR guidelines
  • Liaise and partner closely with the payroll bureau to ensure changes are effected properly and in line with payroll deadlines
  • Deal with all benefits-related queries promptly and efficiently
  • Provide support on HR projects and in-house training initiatives
  • Provide administrative support to the Head of HR i.e. note-taking at disciplinary or grievance meetings
  • Manage temporary staff on a day to day basis and take responsibility for budget
  • Maintain HR profile and visibility across all offices

The Candidate:

You will work alongside the Head of HR to provide a proactive and professional support service to Partners and staff on all aspects of the HR function.

You will be from a professional services background and have minimum CIPD Level 7 qualification and three years’ experience at HR Adviser level.  A commercial approach and an understanding for the need to align people practices with the Firm’s overarching business objectives is key.

Providing support to 200 staff and Partners across eight office locations in Dorset and Somerset, this role is fast-paced and strategic, working closely with the other business support functions.  Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to empathise whilst balancing the needs of the business will be crucial, along with excellent written and oral communication.

A flexible, hands-on approach is required with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet tight deadlines.  The Firm has a strong values-driven culture and the successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism and integrity.
