A leading international law firm distinguished for their prestigious standard in banking, corporate, global capital markets and litigation is recruiting an ambitious Paralegal to join the expanding Intellectual Property team in Belfast with the aim of providing support to the trade mark attorneys and lawyers in the team.

Your new role
In your new role as a Trademark Assistant in the Belfast office your duties will include, but are not limited to the following: You'll prepare cost estimates for filing programmes and process UK, EU and International (WIPO) trade mark applications through to registration and liaising with local agents in relation to national applications worldwide. You'll renew and maintain clients' global trade mark and design portfolios and be responsible for the recordal of assignments, licences, security interests, changes of name/address at the appropriate Trade Mark Registries and instructing local agents in foreign jurisdictions. You'll set up worldwide trade mark watching and assist with trade mark clearance and search reports and manage administrative documents such as POAs. You'll assist with clearance searches and prepare/file opposition, cancellation and revocation. You'll manage the client portfolio database including monitoring deadlines and working with associates and trade mark attorneys to ensure that deadlines are met in a timely manner. You'll assist with billing and set up procedures and drafting precedent documents.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll ideally be a CITMA Qualified Paralegal and have experience with Irish PTO proceedings. You'll be detail focused and demonstrate a self-motivated approach to work. You'll have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. You'll have a good understanding of trade mark prosecution and portfolio management and additional languages are considered advantageous.
