Team Leader - Residential Conveyancing

Located within a highly reputable Kent based law firm.

REPORTING TO: Senior Partner/HOD

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Conduct of client matters including
 Freehold and leasehold transactions; both sales, purchases and new builds;
 Re-mortgages;
 Preparing and advising on transfers of equity;
 Preparing and advising on residential tenancy agreements;

Supervision of team members
Day to day supervision of reporting fee earners including consideration of incoming post, dealing with day to day work issues and queries and approval of bills;
 Lead and encourage the team in developing the department by organising and participating in networking and marketing events, departmental meetings etc.
 Take overall responsibility for the mentoring and training and development of team members; conducting annual appraisals and providing coaching and guidance when required;

Business development & marketing
 Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking with local estate agents and other referrers including accountants, lawyers, surveyors and other professionals;
 Maintaining and strengthening existing relationships with agents and referrers;
 Attending public events in the local community as the Firm's and Department's representative;
 Building the profile of the Department and the Firm;
 Writing articles;
 Speaking at events;
 Use of social and digital media to promote the Department and the Firm.

General
 Attending property department meetings and such training courses as necessary to maintain a proper standard of service;
 Compliance with the Firm's policies and procedures including its anti-money laundering and accounts and administrative procedures;
 Ensuring adequate and competent staffing of the Department;
 Assisting with the training and supervision of trainee solicitors;
