Sue Ross Legal are recruiting for a Paralegal on behalf of a leading, South Yorkshire based law firm. You will be joining the Children Law team and duties will include;
- Assisting with and handling your own caseload of public and privately funded Child Care and Children Act files
- Screening and responding to incoming correspondence and telephone calls
- Dealing with client queries
- Drafting and sending letters of advice to clients
- Taking instructions from clients
- Completing and assisting with the completion of Legal Aid applications
- Diary management including diarising key dates
- Conducting file reviews to ensure compliance
- Making claims for payments
- Taking and drafting statements from clients
- Instructing and obtaining expert reports
- Attending court and tribunal hearings
- Conducting own advocacy where appropriate
- Preparing bundles
- Attending case conferences and PLO meetings
To be considered for this role it is essential that you have worked in a similar position and have experience and knowledge of Children Law. You should be able to prioritise daily workloads and have excellent client care skills.
