Our client is a market leading Private Equity firm specialising in investments within technology, tech-enabled services and tech-related industrial companies, primarily (but not exclusively) in Europe.
An opportunity has presented for a Competition Lawyer to join their London based legal team. The position will be a 9-12 month contract initially, to cover a maternity leave but has a high chance of becoming permanent.
Reporting straight into the General Counsel you will provide legal and strategic advice relating to the firm's existing portfolio and potential acquisitions. Moreover you will support the team on all legal aspects of any private equity M&A transactions.
In this international company you are encouraged to build relationships with both internal stakeholders and with the portfolio companies themselves. This may involve educating on competition law and evaluating enforcement trends to assist with mitigating enforcement risk company wide.
We are looking for a competition lawyer with specific experience of corporate/M&A and a minimum of 6PQE. The ideal candidate is expected to have a track record of experience gained within a leading law firm, although candidates from both in-house and private practice will be considered. The client is agnostic about industry sector experience. Whilst initially a 12 month contract role, there is true potential for our client to take on the right individual permanently.
