Commercial Contracts Lawyer

We are currently working alongside a busy Local Authority based in Hertfordshire who are seeking a Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their service.

The role is being offered on a three to six month basis with a high probability of an extension. The local authority can offer the variety of a wide and interesting caseload with a focus on delivering risk-focussed legal advice to support colleagues in making the best decisions for their service areas and service users.

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you can work under pressure whilst meeting strict deadlines.

You must be able to demonstrate that you can hold a challenging case load including:

• Complex construction contracts
• Service contracts
• Contract related governance issues
• Advising senior officers within the council
• Broad advice experience
• EU Procurement
• Excellent drafting skills
• Contractual disputes and negotiations

The role will have a mixed caseload of procurement, contracts, internal governance, local authority powers, company advice/ other delivery models, CTAs, data protection/ information governance, IPR.
