Paralegal

The top tier defendant Clinical Negligence team of an international law firm are looking for a Paralegal to join their Central Newcastle office. The Clinical Negligence team has Chambers rated Partners and acts within both the private and public healthcare sector.

Responsibilities of your new role

As Paralegal you will be given your own caseload of pre-litigated clinical negligence claims under the supervision of a more experienced fee earner. Your core duties will include:

• Document review and management
• Preparing and updating document folders
• Sorting medical records
• Arranging external copying of films, preparing chronologies of treatment and instructing experts
• Drafting witness statements, lists of documents and assisting with instructions to counsel
• Assisting more senior fee earners defending a broad range of clinical risk claims across all areas including cerebral palsy, oncology, paediatrics and surgery

Candidate requirements

The firm seeks a Paralegal who demonstrates:

• Previous experience in a clinical negligence department
• Strong academics
• The ability to work under pressure

Salary and benefits

The successful Paralegal will benefit from:

• £16,000 - £20,000 per annum
