Senior Disputes Lawyer – Hong Kong

Our client is internationally recognised as having one of the premier offshore insolvency, restructuring & dispute resolution practices and are looking to expand its team in Hong Kong by recruiting a senior insolvency and dispute resolution lawyer to work on a diverse spectrum of work, with a particular focus on Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands related restructuring and insolvency issues.

A bright, ambitious England and Wales qualified lawyer with between 5-9yrs+ of IDR experience gained at a highly rated international law firm (onshore or offshore) or relevant leading financial institution, candidates would ideally possess substantial knowledge in insolvency and restructuring matters with at least 3 years Asian experience. Academically excellent with robust drafting and negotiating skills, it is also imperative that you’ll possess strong commercial awareness plus developed analytical, organisation and communication skills, both written and oral.

The successful applicant will tasked with supporting/managing lawyers within the Asia and Middle East regions, advising on all forms of dispute resolution (including shareholder and general corporate disputes), complex restructurings, contentious and non-contentious insolvencies and distressed situations, advising minority shareholders, trustees, stakeholders, creditors, debtors, private equity and hedge funds, and insolvency practitioners on a wide range of litigation and insolvency related matters.

While the underlying objective is to add strength in depth to the Hong Kong team through the hire of an established senior lawyer with an existing book of business ideally, there are also succession considerations at play, and as such this is a great opportunity for successful candidate to leverage off the firm's existing relationships and build a long-term career from an exceptional platform.
