Senior Counsel level Corporate / Finance Lawyer - Major offshore firm - Cayman Islands
This is a potentially life-changing opportunity for an experienced corporate/finance lawyer to take on a senior counsel level role with the Cayman Islands office of one of the world’s leading offshore law firms.
Details
Joining this highly acclaimed team you will have the opportunity to work with some of the leading lawyers in the offshore world, advising on the Cayman law aspects of major cross-border deals. The corporate and finance practices are closely integrated and you will probably find that your practice is broader than it would be in a big onshore firm. That said, the firm is happy to accommodate specialists whether in corporate or in a relevant area (such as structured/asset/real estate/banking) of finance. You will take a lead role on transactions and will be expected to play an active part in client management and business development.
Requirements
- Senior Counsel level (likely to have at least 8 years’ pqe, although more senior candidates are encouraged to get in touch).
- Applicants with existing offshore experience are encouraged to apply but this is by no means essential.
- Admitted in the UK or equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction.
- High-end corporate or banking & finance experience, whether generalist or specialising in one of the areas outlined above, gained with a leading City/International or equivalent law firm.
Salary and application information
- Salary will be dependent on experience. As a guideline, we would expect the role to pay a minimum of around USD200k base salary, tax-free. There is an attractive bonus scheme, full benefits package and a good relocation allowance.
- Interviews are via videoconference and can usually be scheduled to fit around your working day.
- If successful we would anticipate a start date of 4-6 months from application.
