Corporate Lawyer – Broad Corporate / Funds / Finance practice - Major offshore firm - Cayman Islands

If you are a mid-level lawyer with experience in corporate, funds and/or finance, and you are looking for an exciting lifestyle change combined with a positive step forward in your career, this Cayman-based role could be ideal.

Details

A well-known offshore law firm is seeking a mid-level lawyer to join its Cayman transactional practice. You will be advising international clients (directly and alongside onshore lawyers) on the Cayman law elements of a broad range of high-value corporate, investment funds and, banking and finance transactions. This is a varied role with plenty of client contact and responsibility. It will require the ability to juggle a range of matters at any one time, and so is ideal for someone who enjoys work that turns over quickly. You will be joining a team that has experienced substantial growth over recent years and which has ambitious plans moving forwards.

Requirements

  • Mid-level Associate, probably in the 3-6 years’ pqe range. (3 years’ pqe is required as a minimum in order to secure a work permit in the Cayman Islands).
  • Specialist corporate, funds or finance experience or a more general background in high-value cross-border transactional work gained with a leading City/equivalent firm.
  • Admitted in the UK or equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction.

Salary and application information

  • Salary will be dependent on experience. As a guideline, we would expect it to pay somewhere in the range of USD140k to USD175k base salary, tax-free. There is an attractive bonus scheme, full benefits package and a good relocation allowance.
  • Interviews are via videoconference and can usually be scheduled to fit around your working day.
  • If successful we would anticipate a start date of 4-6 months from application.
