Banking Lawyer / Finance Lawyer - Major offshore firm - Cayman Islands

Opening for a Banking & Finance Associate with the Cayman Islands office of a large, multi-jurisdictional offshore law firm. Nice combination of top-class work, competitive salary and decent work/life balance.

Details

You will be joining an office that fields some of the best known and most respected lawyers in the Cayman market. As part of its banking and finance team, you will be advising international banks and financial institutions on a broad range of Cayman finance law, spanning corporate finance, asset finance, structured finance and real estate finance amongst other areas. You will often be working alongside onshore lawyers, providing critical Cayman expertise as part of a cross border transaction, and you will likely find yourself involved in multiple matters at any given time. You will, however, benefit from a friendly environment and in all likelihood, a better work-life balance than you have now.

Requirements

  • Mid-senior level Associate, probably in the 3-7 years’ pqe range. (3 years’ pqe is required as a minimum in order to secure a work permit in the Cayman Islands).
  • Specialist corporate, funds or finance experience or a more general background in high-value cross-border transactional work gained with a leading City/equivalent firm.
  • Admitted in the UK or equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction.

Salary and application information

  • Salary will be dependent on experience. As a guideline, we would expect it to pay somewhere in the range of USD145k to USD170k base salary, tax-free. There is an attractive bonus scheme, full benefits package and a good relocation allowance.
  • Interviews are via videoconference and can usually be scheduled to fit around your working day.
  • If successful we would anticipate a start date of 4-6 months from application.
