Corporate Lawyer – Broad Corporate / Funds practice - Major offshore firm - Cayman Islands

This elite offshore law firm is looking for a mid-level corporate/funds lawyer to join its well-established team in the Cayman Islands. Opportunity to be part of a growing practice which puts quality and culture at an equal premium.

Details

The firm advises international clients on a broad range of Cayman corporate/transactional work but it is fair to say that the core of the business revolves around private equity and investment funds. As such, you can expect to be advising on specialist funds formation work as well as associated corporate and finance transactional work. As a Cayman specialist, you will sometimes work directly with institutions and sometimes in collaboration with onshore lawyers, and you can expect to be handling a fast-paced, technically complex practice. You will have every opportunity to develop client relationships and opportunities for career progression are excellent.

Requirements

  • Mid-level Associate, probably in the 3-5 years’ pqe range. (3 years’ pqe is required as a minimum in order to secure a work permit in the Cayman Islands).
  • Strong corporate, funds or private equity experience and exposure to high-value international clients gained with a leading UK/international firm.
  • Admitted in the UK or equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction.

Salary and application information

  • Salary will be dependent on experience. As a guideline, we would expect it to pay somewhere in the range of USD145k to USD160k base salary, tax-free. There is an attractive bonus scheme, full benefits package and a good relocation allowance.
  • Interviews are via videoconference and can usually be scheduled to fit around your working day.
  • If successful we would anticipate a start date of 4-6 months from application.

The Cayman Islands

With high-end international legal work, a vibrant ex-pat community, year-round sunshine, and world-class sailing and water-sports, Grand Cayman might be as close as you get to the perfect career/lifestyle move. When you need a break from island life, weekends in Miami, Cuba or across the region are easily accessible. See our website for a full guide to living and working in the Cayman Islands.
