A well-known global name in the insurance sector is looking for a new In House Counsel to join their London based Legal team.
Role and Responsibilities
The duties of the In House Counsel will include:
- Supporting the UK Head of Legal & Compliance in safeguarding the Company’s financial and reputational performance
- Providing legal advice on matters affecting the company and its clients and customers, liaising with external lawyers and supporting the Regulatory Compliance function at the Irish BU
- Advising on any impending change in law to ensure compliance with legislation in relation to the legal construction of the business
- Ensuring contracts or heads of agreement are up to date, providing support to the Sales teams, and drafting contracts from the initial contract award to completion
- Working with the Compliance Officers to ensure that all contracts and insurance products, including any relevant changes and amendments in the light of ever changing FCA regulatory requirements
Candidate Requirements
The successful In House Counsel is likely to have:
- 2-5 years’ PQE
- Strong drafting skills with the ability to advise and negotiate on a range of commercial contracts
- Experience providing legal advice to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Good knowledge of company law / corporate governance
- Working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, the FCA regulatory environment and IT/IP law and GDPR
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary and Contract
The In House Lawyer role is offered on a permanent, full time contract. Salary is competitive.
