This City firm offers a different career lifestyle to that of many larger City competitors. Whilst the quality of work is extremely high and the standard of the firm's lawyers is equal to that of any major City firm, as a slightly smaller London practice, the firm can genuinely provide a personal and friendly working culture and commensurately reduced target hours.

The team
The team works on commercial litigation cases and international arbitration matters, with a general focus on civil fraud, warranty claims and shareholder actions as well as commercial international arbitration. The role would be to work with any of the four partners in the core areas but particularly with one partner who focuses on international arbitration and some investigations.
Most of the work handled by the team originates in the UK based but may involve overseas jurisdictions or the application of foreign laws in the UK. All of the work undertaken is "one-off" without repeat work for banks. The team prides itself on the quality of the work and on its collegiate nature.

The role
The role will involve working on a wide range of arbitration matters across multiple jurisdictions, including ICC and LCIA arbitrations predominantly seated in London.
The commercial disputes work will be varied, from shareholder disputes in the British Virgin Islands to contractual disputes for media clients in the Middle East.
The cases are high quality with the opposite parties in litigation typically being magic or silver circle firms.
Although the work is often demanding, it is well supported by the rest of the Dispute Resolution team with excellent partner supervision.
In addition to fee earning, the role will provide plenty of scope for marketing and client development especially at international arbitration events and to assist in international arbitration bulletins and thought leadership pieces and events.

The credentials
You will have around 3 years' post qualified experience in arbitration and commercial disputes gained from a credible City practice. The firm looks for a strong academic background.

**English law experience is essential.**
